WHAT IS A HEALTHY COMMUNITY STUDY??
A Healthy Community Study is a process of gathering, analyzing and reporting information about current community conditions. Much more than a simple “needs assessment”, the Study provides a snapshot capturing the current state of health for residents of Winnebago and Boone counties, as well as their perceptions of well-being. This data spearheads solutions to effectively create change in the community
The Study is also an invaluable opportunity to connect with community stakeholders and discover community assets and unmet needs.
A gateway to building trust, it opens a clearing for a solid foundation of shared responsibility and commitment to create change and address community health together.
The Healthy Community Study is used for a variety of key purposes, by the well-over-200 organizations who have subscribed to the Study:
- The Study is Rockford Regional Health Council’s data-driven approach to identifying trends in the health status of our region, providing the framework for our strategic plan with identified goals and priorities.
- Local health systems utilize Study data to support the preparation of their Community Health Needs Assessments.
- Many entities of government, business, education, non-profit and healthcare in our region use Study data to identify the most important community issues for strategic planning and program development, as well as to leverage funding for programs and services.
